The stop / start 2020 /21 season resumed on Saturday 12th December with an FA Trophy tie for Bamber Bridge way at Witton Albion. This following a 5 week break due to National Lockdown Number 2 and being in Tier 3 of the National covid restrictions.

The first game with fans took place on Saturday August 29th 2020, A friendly at home against Chorley. We were allowed an all ticket attendance of 300 for this match. Assuming this goes well, we will be able to increase our Capacity to 600 for the future matches. All under strict Covid - 19 Guidelines. It did go well and we were allowed an increased capacity for a few more games until the next lockdown halted the season in November.

Unfortunately, the 2020 /2021 Season was temporarily halted for Bamber Bridge, pretty much before it had got started. After just One League game, a 1-0 home victory over matlock Town, Brig were forced to withdraw from this seasons FA Cup competiotion and the next 3 League games against Rdcliffe, Ashton Utd and Whitby Town, were postponed due to A Brig player testing positive for Covid-19. This meant the whole squad having to self isolate for 14 days. This is likely to become a common occurrance at all clubs as the season progresses. At this early stage (Early October), completing the season seems like wishful thinking. I hope I am wrong. As it happens, i wasn't wrong and the season lurches from one stoppage to another. Now in the middle of December, we haven't had a League game since the 2nd november !!

And here we are, now at the end of March 2021 and no more games have been played. The season is officially over and the Pandemic still has us in Lockdown Number 3. Hopefully the end is in sight though. The vaccination program is well under way in the UK. As of today, almost 30 million people have been vaccinated.  Wow !! The roadmap to freedom has been publshed by the Government and the prospects of next season look promising. It is hoped that all restrictions will be released by June 21st 2021. That is the date that has been set. Let's hope it all goes according to plan.
